Abstract

This paper undertakes an extensive examination of corporate governance in India, aiming to provide a holistic understanding of its landscape and conduct a critical evaluation of its present condition. The research objectives include investigating various facets of corporate governance practices in India and evaluating their effectiveness in promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within corporate activities. Employing a conceptual framework, the study scrutinizes key elements such as regulatory frameworks, board compositions, shareholder rights, and disclosure practices, while assessing their impact on corporate performance and stakeholder interests. Through the synthesis of existing literature and empirical findings, the paper delivers insights into the current state, emerging trends, and future trajectories of corporate governance in India.
