Abstract

One of Indonesia's most significant agricultural commodities is rice. The price of rice rises annually in direct proportion to the number of rice lovers [1]. One of Eastern Indonesia's top growers of rice harvests is the province of South Sulawesi. One of the districts that contributes to the production of rice in South Sulawesi Province is Wajo Regency, which has a great deal of agricultural potential. One of Wajo Regency's top products is rice. The primary source of income for farmers is rice growing, which has been practiced by the community for many centuries. The commodity (commodities) that rice farmers sell in the market through the village market determine their revenue. Research [2] demonstrates that both major and small collectors, as well as urban vendors, purchase farmers' paddy. Farmers must make a commercial decision over whether to sell their paddy crop immediately after post-harvesting or to delay the sale until the following harvest. However, the money that rice farmers make is getting less every year. The high rate of rice imports and the erratic selling price of rice are seen to be contributing factors to the low revenue of rice producers. Therefore, when it comes to marketing rice, producers must decide whether to sell immediately or to wait. Analyzing the variables that affect farmers' choices to sell their rice harvest immediately or later is the aim of this study. The binary logistic regression analysis was the method used. The findings of this study show that land area, the number of family dependents, total production, other sources of income, and farming experience are the elements that have a major impact on farmers' judgments of rice yields.
