Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the preferred parenting styles of modern youth, if/when they become parents. To successfully conduct the exploratory study, a preferential parenting style questionnaire was made. A sample of 195 students aged 18 to 25 was taken. ANOVA, t-test, and descriptive analysis were done using IBM SPSS Statistics (Version 27). It was found that the students prefer the permissive parenting style and there was no major gender difference in this preference. This paper also aims to expand the literature on parenting style preference in the context of the Indian population
