Abstract

Allergic rhinitis -Allergic Rhinitis a disease pertaining to Nose, induced by an immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated inflammatory reaction after allergic exposure of the membranes lining the nose.

Main symptoms include- It is characterised by watery Nasal discharge, Nasal congestion, Sneezing and Itching in the nose^1.    

This may also be associated with symptoms of itching in the eyes, palate and pharynx. It was defined in 1929⁹. The three cardinal symptoms in nasal reactions occurring in allergy are sneezing, nasal obstruction and mucous discharge.

Diagnosis- Allergic rhinitis

Conclusion- Allergic rhinitis is the most common type of chronic rhinitis, affecting 10 to 20% of the population, and evidence suggests that the prevalence of the disorder is increasing².
